Howard and Jones two peas in a pod

John Howard and Alan Jones, ready for the 2007 federal election.

Alan Jones has been found to have racially vilified people of Middle Eastern descent and incited violence during the 2005 Cronulla riots.

Naturally, John Howard has rushed to Jones' defence, bringing out the dog whistle and claiming that:

I don't think he's a person who encourages prejudice in the Australian community, not for one moment, but he is a person who articulates what a lot of people think

Nice caveat. I suppose it would be hypocritical beyond description if Howard were to criticise Jones for racial vilification and prejudice against people of Middle Eastern descent, seeing as Howard rode to victory at the 2001 election doing just that.

From what Howard says, if a lot of people think something, it can't possibly be wrong. Let's not forget that a lot of Germans thought Hitler was just great, and a lot of Americans were in favour of slavery for a long time.

Disappointingly, Kevin Rudd still feels the need to keep appearing on Jones' show, despite Jones being a hardcore Liberal supporter as well as a hardcore dickhead and rabid bigot.

Let's not be under the illusion that Howard and Jones' brand of racism is any less insidious because it reflects the views of a large number of Australians. Just because it's popular doesn't make it okay.

What a quote from Howard... If that wasn't jumped on by the media, then why not?

Alan Jones MC'd the Bill Clinton dinner I attended in 2002, which was a slight surprise I have to say... Focusing on Clinton's speech, he proceeded, the very next morning on Channel Nine's 'Today', to rip Clinton apart...

He'd been paying him every compliment under the sun the night before. It was interesting.

Yes, that's it exactly. He does articulate what people think. Festy inbreds like one nation supporters. Jones avid fans are elcreepoids who I suspect have more money than sense and lack exposure to cultures other than the mono whitey one they're in.
