Streetwalking Johnnie

"$16 a week, but you don't get paid overtime or penalty rates on public holidays"

In the papers today: Maxine McKew would win the seat of Bennelong from John Howard if an election was held today.

From yesterday's news, it seems that John Howard already had wind of those polls, given that he was streetwalking in Bennelong, trawling for votes:

Mr Howard reported that nobody had anything bad to say about the budget during an electioneering walkabout this morning at a shopping centre in his north-west Sydney electorate of Bennelong.

"It certainly seems on the basis of my wandering around this morning for about three-quarters of an hour that the people of this part of Australia like the budget," he said.

"I've had a number of very favourable responses and no particular criticisms."

[...]

"This is not the first election when this far out I've wandered around Eastwood Plaza.

Of course they like it. It's what they wanted. Still could have been better but at least education got some bucks.

Fuck I hate him.

I had a big grin when I saw that report RE McKew. Here's hoping.
