Howard against the public interest

The Howard government has refused to release the results of taxpayer-funded opinion surveys on the taxpayer funded advertising of its WorkChoices laws.

Let's lay this out:

1. John Howard gives Australian workers a new set of laws that are essentially designed to let employers rape them up the arse.

2. John Howard spends $62 million of taxpayers' money on advertising his new laws to the people who don't want them ($55 million to start with, then another $7 million when he realises the first lot did bugger all to win votes inform the public).

3. John Howard spends more of taxpayers' money on opinion surveys to find out if his ads managed to convince any of the people who hate his laws to change their mind.

4. John Howard refuses to release results of said surveys under the premise that it is against the public interest for the public to know what their money is being spent on.

Who do you trust?
