Howard, fearing hecklers, flees media

Looks like the regular heckling from ordinary people on his morning display walk has been getting to John Howard. Even his goons haven't been able to prevent average joes from letting him know exactly what they think of him in full view of the trailing media, so this morning Howard had his people lie to the media and set them up to wait for Howard in a hotel lobby at 7am. Howard and his goons then ducked out before the media arrived, leaving them to give chase:

On Friday morning, journalists were told by Mr Howard's minders to assemble in the hotel where they were staying at 7am (WST) to join the walk, but the prime minister had already left.

Reporters then sprinted in the direction they believed Mr Howard was walking and police became involved, demanding identification from one journalist.

A very telling episode, this.

Will he still have the goons when he leaves parliament I wonder...?

I do wonder if he is widely hated enough to keep them. My bet is yes.
