One foot in 1916, the other in a retirement home
The media have been loving the footage of Maxine McKew dancing at the Granny Smith Festival while campaigning in Bennelong, and I've been enjoying it too. I like to think of it as Maxine dancing on John Howard's political grave. It seems Howard might have seen it that way too, given the priceless look on his face in the bottom picture.

I love that footage of her dancing. Fantastic. Shows that pollies are just as unco as the rest of us. And by "rest of us" I mean me.
Now all I need to find out is that one of them is as clumsy as I, and all will be well.

Gee, if 'she looks like an idiot' is the worst thing you can say about her then it's gonna be a vast improvement over John Howard.
Imagine if the only thing I saw fit to criticise about Howard was his shithouse bowling and his funny eyebrows... not exactly the strongest argument against him being PM.
But since we're at this level, Maxine's dancing, dodgy as it is, beats the pants off John Howard's bowling any day. Not a cricket tragic, just tragic full stop :P
