Brendan 'the ear' Nelson
Rest of the country isn't. Dr Brendan's back into single digits after a frenzy of attacks against the PM lead by the Opposition Orifice. Weeks of carping and whinging about Rudd's choice of tie, his wife's fashion sense (a damn sight better than Jeanette 'pants suit' Howard) have accomplished bupkis, rien, nicht, nada, naught.
They have however distracted attention from the rumblings about Costello (remember him?) making a leadership challenge. Consider this, dear readers. Whoever loses a Costello/Nelson leadership battle will win the official title of biggest loser in Australia. That would go double for Costello if he lost this, too. Also would that mean that Malcolm Turnbull would become the new Peter Costello? Always waiting, never quite getting there.
Dr Brendon reckons the latest result show Rudd is having an 'extended honeymoon'. In the same way that Harold Holt is on an extended vacation.

Here in Melbourne some local councillor had a twisted sense of humour and named a pool "The Harold Holt Swim Centre". Perhaps we need a Dr Nelson Leadership Academy

Always with the honeymoon. It was the same fucked in the head logic Shannahan was fueling when Rudd got made leader, all the months leading to the election, the election, after the election, and until now.
