For all the 'treasury slams Labor's IR changes' headlines I've been seeing this morning, few of the papers seem to think that the fact that the document in question was dated April 18 of last year and was essentially bought-and-paid-for by the Howard government is particularly relevant. It's the same line that the Howard government was touting in the run-up to its election loss last November- "the sky will fall in if Labor removes WorkChoices". Why is it considered news now?

Our golden haired PM hasn't had his first major catastrophe yet - for the most part it's been smooth sailing on calm seas.
That's boring for newspapers.
I think they're hoping that if they dig around enough they'll find something that'll make him panic and spin out.
Two words. Dennis Shannahan. The Oz led with the story and SMH followed suit.
