Contains up to 20% more truth than other newspapers!
Apparently Fairfax journalists are facing the sack because no one's buying newspapers anymore. A quick glance at the smh webpage shows that happily there's still enough money to keep Miranda Devine and Paul Sheehan employed. I can't imagine why people aren't buying more newspapers. You get so much choice! You can read deranged right-wing ranting in the SMH and the Opposition Orifice! Though I'm not sure why I should fork out for a newspaper that buries the story of its own striking staff in a tiny little link on its front page. The statement it leads to reads like a coal miners' strike, right down to promising to be humane and merciful to those that surrender. I'd like to think that people have gotten sick of reading stenography and infantile ranting, but the truth is probably that people are just dumber than they used to be.
