Those Pirate Ads
You know, the ones that breathily announce "you wouldn't steal a car... " they screen at the cinema at the movie you've paid to see. Not exactly the audience they need to be targeting, you might think... Bloody oath they're annoying! Just a small rant I've been meaning to make for a while.

Cinema's are still around? You mean all this piracy we're doing (30% of internet traffic in BitTorrents alone) hasn't killed off Hollywood yet? Sheesh, what's the point.
I think they should have a little more honesty...
"Do you have a home cinema? Did you know, they are made by small demon creatures who, while you sleep, will creep out of the projector or DVD player into your anus and create hemorroids so large that doctors will take photos and put them on the internet?
Do you want that? Is it worth it? Would you want AreMyRoidsHotOrNot.com showing your rectal growths, or do you want to pay $12 for 2 cents worth of popcorn?
Look at this small child of a Hollywood producer, suckling on a gold-plated teat. What is wrong with this picture? That's right, it's 23 carat gold. You did this, why would you do this, you sick thieving bastard, robbing this poor child of what it rightly deserves."
LOL !
Those ads are so freaking loud. But they do make me want to leap out of my set and pelvic thrust to the beat those hose out.
Which is what I shall do next time.
I read this article about messages over PA's in supermarkets. One comapny had tried putting in 'please do not steal' messages into the mix of coma inducing musak. Then they found their loss rate went up. Turns out people who hadn't considered stealing decided to do it after hearing the message. They had much more success with 'don't forget to pay at the counter'.
Funny that...
