Just now, as I was getting ready for bed, I heard a funny 'scritchscritch' noise emanating from the bedroom. It sounded like Xiaoxiao's claws on the bedspread, and it was. She'd just weed on it and was completing the scratching ritual. The doona cover I had on the bed the night she arrived was still on the line, the doona that inhabited it has not yet been washed... now we have a backlog of 2 unwashed doonas and 1 unwashed doona cover- thankfully it's a nice warm night!
She was doing so well today, too. After peeing in her litter tray last night and subsequently spending an uneventful and happy night on the bed with us (albeit with an earlier awakening than we'd have preferred), she used her litter at least twice more during the day. We thought she was well on track to being toilet trained, and now this!
Unfortunately, Xiaoxiao has been relegated to the bathroom for the night, from where her piteous cries are now emanating :( To top it off, 5 minutes after we shut her in I heard her using her litter tray again... so it probably would be alright to let her out, only we can't be sure, seeing as she seems to think of the bed as her second litter-tray.
I was always grateful that Feifei was fully toilet-trained when we got him (or he trained himself because he's a clean-freak, more like it), but having Xiaoxiao for 2 days has made me even more grateful that we're only having to go through this once!

Does she know her way around yet?
I got my kitten at 8 weeks - fully toilet trained - but I only had a litter tray downstairs. When she was upstairs she was either too lazy to go downstairs or didn't quite know where she was, and would pee on the tiles in my bedroom.
Solved the problem by putting a litter tray upstairs as well so she wouldn't get lost.
Have had her almost 3 years now and haven't had a pee or poo problem since.
Yeah she knows her way around, but she seems to get too carried away playing to realise she needs to go. I *wish* she would pee on the tiles! We got away with no accidents yesterday, but we're up early this morning because she peed on the bed again...
