When your conservative Auntie joins Facebook...

Some things you just don't want to have to explain...

What do you do?

Oh dear. My Auntie Anne just added us as a friend on Facebook. For those of you who aren't familiar with my Auntie Anne, she's an all-round lovely person but a total evangelical Jesus-nut. Lives in a very small town, with all the political and social narrow-mindedness that entails (though she's not a redneck or a racist she can come out with some eye-popping racial clangers). While I'm mentioning her flaws, I should say that she's a terrible cook and that if she ever offers you... well, anything from her oven, really, you should most definitely make some polite excuses and refuse.

Anyway, the reason for the panic about her adding us as a friend? Well... we have our Sexpo photos up there. Boobies and all that. Us in a dirty pose with Belladonna. Yeah. We're happy to share those ones with our friends, and I don't care if my cousins (Auntie Anne's kids) see them- frankly I think it's probably good for them- but I don't even want to think about TEH SHOCK! TEH HORROR! that would arise from Auntie Anne seeing them. And if we give her access to our profile but not our photos, wouldn't that seem a little weird? Maybe we can do that and just pretend Facebook is broken or something. My gut feeling is that she'll make a profile and never use Facebook again, but there's always the chance that she'll turn into one of those net-savvy oldies and be on there all the time and ask awkward questions.

Haha... well... I suppose it could be worse. I suppose she could have found this blog! I seriously wonder whether we'd be disowned/excommunicated if some of our family members read this blog...

Gam and Sarah,

Based upon these pictures and your own post in which you criticise your aunty Anne. Also your pathetic, cheap and dime a dozen epithets like "racist" and "redneck" etc shows you like to put yourself on a pedestal by pulling others down; especially those who are normal.
