Boston pees itself over cartoon ad campaign

With all the hoo-ha over the 'terrorist scare' in Boston recently, I've noticed something very strange: none of the mainstream news sources that I read- the Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, the Guardian, The Independent, the BBC or the New York Times carried photos of the devices that caused a scare. The New York Times carried pictures of the guys hired by the marketing company to place the devices, but none of the articles I read carried pictures of the devices themselves. In fact, I first saw pictures on Jesus' General. I wasn't sure if it was a joke.

I also first read on another blog that the devices had been in place for two whole weeks before all of a sudden people starting peeing their pants at the sight of them.

Could it possibly be just a tad embarrassing for the city of Boston that the 'bomb scare' was caused by something that looked like this...?

You'd think the fact that there was a terrorist scare over something so pathetic- a cartoon character, for crying out loud- would be news in itself and that the media would be falling all over themselves to publish it so people can laugh. Instead, the marketing company who are 'guilty' of having the devices placed have grovellingly agreed to pay the city of Boston US$2 million to compensate.

I think Gam has a friend living in Boston... I wonder what his take on the matter is...

UPDATE: Larry has the solution to the 'scare', and Gam's friend moved to Washington a while back.

Hey Sarah & Gam, after all these years (ok, a few months), I’ve finally added you’re blog as a link on my site.

I couldn't get that little terrorist sucker to make a peace sign.

The whole incident is, I think, is the highlight of the whole fear/war on terrorism so far.
