Not so progressive

Today is the 40th anniversary of the day when Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were first recognised as citizens in their own country. Only 40 years. And John Howard still won't utter the word 'sorry'.

About time we got ourselves a new Prime Minister, I reckon.

How ironic that Howard used the laws enacted to enable the commonwealth to legislate on behalf of Aboriginal people to fuck them in the arse.

Good point, but given there's every indication we will be getting a new one, let's make sure we get some serious promises from Rudd that he'll actually do things differently!!

Not so far... the best we can hope for is that neither party have a senate majority and the greens hold the balance of power...
