Seeing as Australia, along with the US and European countries, was so quick to embrace the 'newly independent state' of Kosovo, I wonder when we're going to see them embrace West Papua as an independent state? Any day now, surely...
I love the way the language used in the West's 'independent' media alters according to whatever the current government line is. Other aspiring independent nations are frequently tagged with labels such as 'breakaway province', or 'secessionist province'. Why is Kosovo treated so differently?

because kossovo is a colonial outpost aimed entirely at annoying russia. the kla are the only muslims dick cheney has ever loved, despite their association with al qaeda, human trafficking and drug peddling. that should tell you all you need to know.
Not likely - West New Guinea was traded to Indonesia as part of the 1962 New York Agreement which was written on the advice of US Whitehouse adviser McGeorge Bundy. Bundy was concealing from President Kennedy that Bundy's mentor Freeport Sulphur director Robert Lovett had a fiscal reason for wanting West Papua to become an Indonesian colony.
Because Papuans are indigenous to continental Australia, they understand that US mining of their gold & copper is more important to Canberra than a few hundred thousand Papuan lives.
Because Kosovo is in Europe. NG is a busted arse country that doesn't matter.
