Queensland is officially the most homophobic state in Australia.
Mind you, the rest of Australia isn't far behind us.
While 'only' 1 in 20 Australians are full-on racists who wouldn't want a non-white next door neighbour, 1 in 4 are homophobic bigots who wouldn't want a gay person living next door. Undoubtedly there is a significant overlap between these two groups of ignorant fucks.
The study also discovered a link between homophobia and levels of education, with people who did not complete high school more likely to be homophobic than those with a university education.
Respondents from a low socio-economic background were also found to be more homophobic.
The Australia Institute said those on the receiving end of homophobic behaviour were affected in a number of ways, including feelings of isolation, discrimination and increased rates of suicide.
A New South Wales Attorney General's department report found 56 per cent of homosexuals experience homophobia or violence over a 12-month period.
It was found 85 per cent had experienced harassment or violence at some point in their lives, while one in four had experienced physical attacks.
Young gay men were three times more likely to consider or attempt suicide than other groups.
Charming. Australia: the lucky country, unless you're gay.

There we have it. These of course are likely the same people that are more likely to vote one nation than someone who is educated.
Doesn't explain Howard though. He's got two qualifications. Oh wait, he's just a twat.
All the gay people I have ever met have been normal people. They just happen to have sex with the same sex. Only difference people. Get over it.
1 in 4, guess it doesn't 'get better'. Fuck =/
