Weddings: The shit music

One of the many things I'm learning about weddings from my readings online and the magazine I bought is that they seem to be an occasion on which some truly shithouse music is played under the pretense that it is 'romantic'. Please. Most of this stuff sounds as romantic as two cats in a bag being beaten with a stick. Take a look at Bride's Diary's top 20:

Gam and I are thinking about learning swing dancing to surprise our families at the reception, instead of 'waltzing' to some howling ballad by Celine Dion. Got to make some kind of effort, and besides, we can then tick 'learn to dance' off our life's To-do list. We'll wait until everyone's drunk before bringing on the Red Elvises' Love Rocket and Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up. Better warn my Dad to bring ear plugs...

When friends got married their song was "Harper Valley PTA". Mostly because they just couldn't agree on any other song. They get funny looks when people find out that this was the song they danced to.

Here you go:

Harper Valley PTA (no video, just music)

Can't imagine anyone else in the world has ever had that as their wedding song!

Had a listen- that sounds so awful it should come with a warning!
