"I want to control your zygotes, your embryos, your foetuses..."Here's a huge surprise: women who have an unplanned pregnancy don't want to be referred for counselling, preferring instead to make up their own minds based on their situation and discussions with their partner and family.
A national survey of 2003 women, contacted via the internet, found 51 per cent had experienced an unplanned pregnancy, and three out of four of them did not want counselling.
The Federal Government's 24-hour pregnancy helpline, part of a $51 million package aimed at reducing the abortion rate, will start on May 1.
But the operations manager of Marie Stopes International, a leading sexual health care organisation, said the money could have been better spent on sex education in schools and sexual health programs.
"The government did not survey Australian women to find out if they wanted counselling services," Jill Michelson said.

Most women surveyed (81 per cent) felt pregnancy counselling services should be able to refer clients to all options: parenting, adoption, and abortion.
Blow it out your arse, Tony Abbott. When you have an unplanned pregnancy, maybe you'll have an opinion worth hearing. Until then, keep your rosaries off our frigging ovaries.

Until these fuckwits get it through their heads that the abortion issue will end when women have full information about their cycle and access to effective birth control then this debate will never go away. Safe/Legal/Rare. The rare part comes through education before pregnancy, not during it.
